This period also saw an increase in manufacturing jobs as well as tourism due to nearby lakes such as Lake Shetek which attracted visitors from all over Minnesota and beyond.

Today, Adrian is still primarily an agricultural community but has diversified its economy with more manufacturing jobs being created at companies such as Bemidji Woolen Mills which opened in 1996 along with other smaller businesses located around town including restaurants, retail stores and service providers like auto repair shops and beauty salons.
